the studio
Nothing happens twice.
TNES. — said “tones” — is a photography studio founded by Victor Safdie Levy, working between New York and Brazil.
The photographs begin with observation. A runner crosses once; fog changes a valley; a public pool holds a particular arrangement for only a moment. The frame records what was already there.
The studio then considers how that photograph becomes a physical work: on framed paper, or—where a finished result has been confirmed—on plexi or brushed aluminum. Material, scale and setting are part of the conversation.
Private Projects extend the same approach to a particular room, with selections from the collection and private archive.
